A great start to Year 2

September 16th, 2017

The children have made a great start to Year 2. They have come into the classroom each morning independently and got straight on with their morning work. We have been joined by two new children and all of Willows have made them feel very welcome.

In maths we have been working on place value and thinking how many tens and ones make up each number. In literacy we have recapped plurals and the use of ‘and’. We have been thinking about how we keep our bodies healthy in science. We looked at the different food groups and enjoyed a picnic in our first week. We discussed germs and our currently undertaking an experiment using bread! We ended the week with learning about the four countries that make up the UK.

I have been very impressed with the children’s interest in their homework and very pleased to see so many hand it in the next day. Keep it up Willows.

Welcome Back!

September 5th, 2017

Welcome to Year 2

The classroom is ready and waiting for you. Just a reminder that Willows use the back door to come in and go home, please say your goodbyes at the back door. A letter will come home this week with days for reading, PE and library. Any questions come and ask, I will be on the back door in the mornings.

Exotic plant sculptures

March 31st, 2017

Willow have been comparing Kenya to England. We have been looking at some of the exotic and unusual plants found in the rain forest and Savannah. We created our own sculptures of new and exotic plants.
