Girls Cricket Success!

June 14th, 2018

On Friday June 8th yr 6 girls took part in the annual North Dorset Cricket tournament at Shillingstione cricket ground.

Our team was: Maiya, Esme, Keira, Lilly, Maisy, Amy, Jessie, Jess, and Shannon (but unfortunately she could not play due to an injury).

First, we played Stalbridge. We fielded first and they batted, they were quite good and we weren’t too sure if we would win. But we were stronger at batting and ended up winning.

Next, we played Wyke and we fielded first but to be honest they weren`t the best at playing cricket so we won again.

Then we played St Georges. We batted first and did well in that. Then we fielded. Maisy was our star player in this and caught 4 wickets and Maiya caught one and stumped one. Due to that, we won and went to the finals.

Lastly, we played Fontmell (the finalists). We batted first- they were amazing at bowling! Then we fielded and they batted again. They were amazing they won. Overall we came second.

This means we will now play at Bryanston in the county finals!

Sports Day

June 14th, 2018

Sports Day 2018

On Wednesday 21st of May, St Nicholas Primary School had their Sports day. At the beginning we started with the sprints starting from reception up. The bronze ambassadors and 3 teachers were waiting at the finish line for every single race. The races were so exciting and everybody tried their best. A couple people fell over but it didn’t get to them, they got up and carried on.

After the sprints we got into our house teams to do our team events. Everyone made a huge contribution towards their teams score.

Next came the marathon and everyone gave it a go. There was a stunning show of teamwork and perseverance. Keira’s mum even joined in on the last lap.
