Times tables in year 3

September 21st, 2017

in year 3, the children are asked to learn the 3x, 4x and 8x tables. We obviously continue to use and reinforce the 2x, 5x and 10x table learnt in year 2, as well as providing opportunities for children who have not yet mastered those tables to do so.

The first tables which we will look at are the 4x and 8x tables. Learning tables requires very frequent practice at home. I have put on the Ash class blog several websites which the children may enjoy using.

Various games:

Hit the button for tablets:

Times table songs:

And many free songs on youtube.

Some useful websites for more fun maths practice

May 23rd, 2017

Some of the children have been asking for more online maths games to use at home; here is a selection, mostly from the same site. Other games on this site are well worth looking at as well. I have not yet managed to master embedding a link into this blog – you’ll still have to copy and paste into your browser.
